Cooking Lunch for Joe Beddia

This August, Smithereens launches a collaborative weekly series Cook Lunch For that invites wine-inclined friends into their kitchen. First up: Joe Beddia. A self-taught authority on pizza and wine, Joe is the chef-owner of Pizzeria Beddia, the Philadelphia restaurant ranked number 3 in the U.S. in 2024 by 50 Top Pizza. Lunch will be inspired by his Italian-American upbringing, his enduring love of seafood, and boardwalk bites like fried scallops and potatoes. They’ll be pouring volcanic wines from Italy as well as esoteric choices from Piedmont and fun beer.
