We’ve long been fans of Fork in the Road, the Village Voice’s food blog. Their stories range from Nobletree’s trip to Yemen to weekly food event roundups. And for the last seven years they’ve hosted Choice Eats: a tasting event curated by their food critics. It’s happening from 6:00—10:00 p.m. on March 13 at the Metropolitan Pavilion this year, and tickets are on sale now. You can also sign up to volunteer in exchange for a ticket to their May street foods event.
This year’s lineup includes old favorites like Gloria’s Caribbean Cuisine as well as newcomers like Butter & Scotch. Every restaurant in attendance has been reviewed by the Village Voice, and many are recipients of their “Best Of” awards. Littleneck, recently named “Best Spot for Homesick New Englanders,” will be making an appearance. They’ll be announcing more specific dish previews on their blog as the event draws closer. They’ll also be donating some of the proceeds to Slow Food NYC. “We love to support their programs that are dedicated to creating food systems that are based on high quality and sustainability while providing education about making better informed food choices,” a representative told us.
