The US Open will return to Flushing Meadows on August 26, but the main event—at least for us—will take place on Thursday, August 22, when the annual Citi Taste of Tennis tasting event will return for its 20th year to Cipriani on 42nd Street.
The event will feature signature cuisine from dozens of the city’s leading chefs. Participating chefs include Richard Blais (Trail Blais), Chef Bao Bao (Baoburg), Sujan Sarkar (Baar Baar), Mina Newman (Sen Sakana), Lamar Moore (The Swill Inn), Suhl Lee (The Knickerbocker), and more. Also on hand will be some of the world’s best tennis players, including John Isner (currently ranked number 9 in the world for men’s singles), Sloane Stephens (2017 US Open Champion), and Alexander Zverev (currently ranked number 5 in the world for men’s singles).
A perfect collision of the culinary and sports worlds, Citi Taste of Tennis combines two of the things we love most about living in New York: the city’s plethora of world-class restaurants and proximity to some of the best events in sports.
Citi Taste of Tennis is an exclusive, four-hour event—this year’s will run from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.—and, much to our delight, it’s a boozy one. Drink offerings include fine wine and spirits, craft beers, and more. To get a sense of what the event is like, check out the #cititasteoftennis hashtag on your social media platform of choice to see images from last year’s event—and then get ready to share your own when you attend the event yourself this year.
Tickets to Taste of Tennis are $300 per person and can be purchased online here. All attendees must be 21+, so don’t forget your ID or you’ll miss out—game, set and match.
