Long Island Wine Country Rocks Brooklyn


Our fifth annual, massive sipping soiree called Brooklyn Uncorked was a rage, with wineries pouring a rainbow of roses and sauvignon blancs alongside some of the city’s best food. Peruse the vendor list and see the Metromix show here.

We are still swooning from the offerings–as well as an afterparty of mackerel and braised beef tacos at Palo Santo–and going through our wine tasting notes. There were an unusual number of notepads at this year’s event, from professionals and amateurs alike, who didn’t want to forget their favorites and were eager to book their face-to-face visit with new winery acquaintances.

As always, we couldn’t pull off Uncorked without the generosity of our sponsors, The Long Island Wine Council, Bing and Organic Valley. The Long Island Wine Council, the promotional arm of our wine region, helps organize the two dozen or so wineries that pour. Bing, the decision-engine of choice for food and drink enthusiasts, will be providing  some interactive searching of New York wine options. And Organic Valley will be sampling dairy from their nearly 200 New York farmer members, including their new NYFresh label, produced and bottled entirely in the Empire State.
