Road Tripping Ulster County

Ulster Has Everything

Camp Kingston

36 St. James St., Kingston, NY 12401
(845) 853-4337

Camp Kingston is a vibrant all-day café, bar, and community gathering space in Kingston. Inspired by Camp Sequoia, a summer camp that his family ran for 75 years, owner Sam Shapiro’s multipurpose space has a genuine, whatever-you-want-it-to-be vibe. Meet or snack in the café, bar, and mercantile area up front. Then head to the back for some pinball and pool, surrounded by works by local artists.

Coffee service begins at 7:30am, grab-and-go items and pantry staples are available throughout the day, and bar service runs into the evening. Chef and Hudson valley native Lee Kalpakis’s menu highlights quality, bright flavors, and local ingredients with a spark of camp nostalgia. Rotating salads, sandwiches and soups are rounded out by fun on-the-go bites like sesame noodles, a mortadella sammy, and a classic PB&J.

Stop by in the morning for an espresso and a work call, stay through lunch, and before long, it’s time for a drink and a round of pool with a friend. Luckily, Camp Kingston is open daily.
