Bring Your Inner Kid (and Actual Kids) to Eat Play Local Day

Eat Play Local Day
Stop by the Children’s Museum of Manhattan on June 27th from 11am to 1:30 pm for a fun and food-filled Eat Play Local Day celebration that both kids and parents can sink their teeth into.

The little ones will love munching on Mixed Up Sandwiches, featuring tomatoes, peppers, basil, white beans, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and American Singles from Organic Valley all on whole wheat bread, compliments of Organic Valley and the Creative Kitchen.  Then they can wash it down with a parent-approved Get Your Greens On Smoothie! from Whole Foods, made with an unsweetened non-dairy beverage, such as rice, almond or soy milk, dried apricots or pitted dates, banana, chopped kale leaves, spinach leaves, and fresh or frozen berries.  For cross-generational refreshment, Brewla Bars is bringing popsicles–hops-flavored for the adults and the Hero (cherry pomegranate red tea) and the Doctor (craft-brewed root beer float) for the kids.

Aside from all the tasty treats, you won’t want to miss Tori Kass’ I Love My Fruits & Vegetables Activity featuring the museum’s National Institutes of Health-approved arts-based early childhood obesity prevention curriculum.  And Meatless Monday will teach kids how they can help themselves and the planet stay healthy by cutting out meat one day a week.

The best news?  All this is free with paid admission to the museum.  Click here for more info or to RSVP, send an email to info@ediblemanhattan.com.
