There were no debates between the 30+ beer brewers, spirit distillers, wine makers and food purveyors last week at our Edible Escape evening in the Lower East Side. All vendors received a vote from adventurous food and drink lovers.
International relations were favorable between India’s Bira91 white and Peru’s Cusqueña’s golden lager, while Loire Valley Wine’s Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Grezeaux paired nicely with Japan’s Royce’ irresistible chocolate chips. The focaccia with Italian salami from Eattiamo had us ready to pack our bags and fly straight to the source.
New York’s regions were proudly represented with Catskills crafted and kosher certified Bootlegger 21 Bourbon by Prohibition Distillery, Brooklyn’s Black & Bolyard Brown Butter popcorn with Aleppo pepper and lime, and Long Island’s Harbes Family Farm peanut covered caramel apples.
Penguin Random House brought a selection of their food titles while Green Mountain Energy shared Pollution Free Efficiency Plans. Even bruised fruits and vegetables were put to good use by being transformed into “Misfit Juice” by the The Economist.
You can see the full event lineup here, and we hope you’ll join us next year!
