Farm-to-table cooking is chef Dante Giannini’s jam. On Kitchensurfing — an online marketplace connecting New Yorkers with local chefs who create, prepare and share food directly in your home — his menus teem with seasonal springtime fare; each course carefully crafted to reflect the season. For Dante, choosing superior ingredients means a trip to the Greenmarket, every time.

“I have an idea before I get to the market about what’s going to be there, but then I let the produce speak for itself,” maintains the Culinary Institute of America graduate, who is also a firm believer that taking a quality raw ingredient and slightly elevating it is the key to fantastic cooking. “What’s in season will naturally taste the best.”

To celebrate the return of spring, we are teaming up with chef Dante and Kitchensurfing to give you the chance to win a private farm-to-table dinner experience for you and five friends. Yes, that’s right: chef Dante could take over your kitchen for an evening to whip up his best seasonal menu for you and your crew. We’ll be there, too, with a photographer and writer to document the experience for our website.

Of course chef Dante’s full service will be determined by market availability, but you can expect golden beets and purple carrots, as well as fresh thyme to enhance his garlic-infused sea salt. As we roll deeper into spring, he’ll also be on the lookout for ramps and spring peas that will likely be prepared around a main course of fish (seafood is Dante’s favorite protein to cook after working at Oceana and Aquagrille).

Sign up here to enter. We’re accepting entries until we announce a winner on April 11. Good luck!
