Roughly 50 million Americans (one in four children) don’t know where they’re going to get their next meal. A Place at the Table tells the stories of three individuals who struggle with food insecurity, while also highlighting commentary from food experts including Janet Poppendieck, author Raj Patel, nutrition policy leader Marion Nestle, Witness to Hunger’s Mariana Chilton, Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio and Oscar®-winning actor and huger advocate Jeff Bridges. The film has been an official selection at numerous film festivals, including Sundance in 2011.
The evening will being with a cocktail reception and feature a post-film Q&A with co-director Kristi Jacobson, NYCCAH wxecutive director Joel Berg and our own editor Brian Halweil.
