In the new issue of Edible Manhattan, we cover a group called Crop Mob, where cityfolk descend on a patch of local land to help farmers weed, hoe or harvest. Now in its second year, Crop Mob NYC boasts nearly 1,000 members who follow the updates of where to meet by Facebook or Googlegroups. But you have another more formal chance to work on a farm this weekend — a beauty called Katchkie owned by a Manhattan catering company that we covered both in a story last year and more recently on Let’s Eat, our NY1 show. They’re having a farm clean-up, planting and picnic day all day Sunday. It’s a short trip upstate in Kinderhook, you don’t need any farming experience, and you can more details right here.
