The past few years have seen an enormous boost in interest in growing and purchasing food — bread, seafood, dairy, eggs, produce, you name it — locally. That’s what we’ll be talking about at the second annual Farm to City Expo on March 4.

This year’s theme is “Turning Local Purchasing into Profits for Farmers, Restaurateurs and Entrepreneurs”; that is, how can everyone benefit from buying locally grown and produced foods, and what’s the most effective way of going about doing so?

Join us for a day full of panels of farmers, restaurateurs and product distributors discuss local meat, seafood and product development. Our own Brian Halweil will be moderating the panel on local seafood sourcing and distribution. Also serving on panels will be Andrew Tarlow of Marlow and Daughters (amount other Brooklyn establishments), Mike Zezzi of Flying Pigs Farm, Robert LaValva of New Amsterdam Market, and Rick Field of Rick’s Picks.

The expo is free, but registration is required. Click here to register for the show by March 1.
