In about 30 minutes Mayor Bloomberg will officially sign the official proclamation noting that July is officially Good Beer Month. Not that you needed anybody to tell you that a summer month was a good one for drinking good beer, aka craft beers known for their flavors… not their low price or stay-cold cans.
We of course encourage you to visit all the amazing bars, pubs, taverns and tap rooms participating in the Month (be sure to get your pub crawl card stamped), but really really hope you make our party on the 28th, called Good Beer at BAM and held in conjunction with Edible Brooklyn and Edible East End.
We’re lucky enough to have four craft breweries in New York City — Kelso, Sixpoint, Brooklyn and Heartland — as well as several just outside the city’s borders, like Captain Lawrence, Southampton, Blue Point, Fire Island and Ommegang, all of whom will be there pouring along with other national craft breweries of note. It’s $40 for brew heaven, or half priced with a subscription to us!
