Transforming Cities: The Education Series

Feeding the more than 8 million hungry mouths in New York City is no small task.  Join us on Wednesday, May 2nd as BioCities.org and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure host a daylong seminar to tackle this complicated feat.  This event, the first of many seminars to come in an educational series entitled Transforming Cities: How Food Systems Shape Cities, will focus on the ecological, social and economic issues surrounding our ability to feed cities.  Participants will also enjoy meals prepared with foods produced in our region and have the chance to earn credits from ASLA, GBCI and APA.

The seminar–which will take place in Manhattan–is divided into two sessions: daytime (8-5) and evening (6:30-8).  Panelists include Viraj Puri of Gotham Greens, Robert LaValva of the New Amsterdam Market, Ken Jaffe of Slope Farms, Carolyn Steel, author of Hungry City, and Brian Halweil, our publisher!  Get your tickets here.
