Louisiana crawfish are available nearly year round now, but as with so many other tasty things, their best season is the spring. That’s why The Sycamore Bar & Flowershop in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn (yes, it actually is a flower shop, too) is hosting a crawfish boil this Saturday, with help from Abita Beer and some overnight delivery. It’s $25 for a bucket of crawfish and a beer, with several Abita specialty brews in the house. There are two seatings, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and you can sign up for either here. This is finger food at its finest, and presumably someone will also be on hand to show you how to eat the currently sweet and fat critters — pinch tail and suck head sounds cute, but it requires a bit of a how-to — and also what to do when you’re done with them. We suggest wearing them on your fingers.
