The winter issue of Edible Brooklyn has just hit streets and is now out online, and you can consider it a where-to-eat this weekend guide, if you will. There’s a tour of Sunset Park’s Chinatown by Buddakan chef and Sheepshead Bay boy Yang Huang, complete with his Chinese New Year’s grocery guide. A profile of Ebinger bakery’s world-famous, pudding slathered blackout cake, as shown on our cover, which includes a round-up of where to eat it now. And the story of Don Paco Lopez bakery, which turns out the best King cake we’ve ever tasted — not to mention the overstuffed Mexican sandwiches called tortas — complete with several plastic baby Jesuses secreted inside.
