If you’re not heading for the hills and beaches this weekend, you’re in luck. On tap for Saturday, July 27 is the NY State Food & Beer Expo at East River State Park in Williamsburg.
Says Jimmy’s No. 43 owner Jimmy “Good Beer Seal” Carbone: “I’m producing the event to focus on the great brewers in New York State as a part of the Fifth Annual July Good Beer Month. We’ll have 20-plus brewers, and we’ll be presenting Empire Brewing’s David Katleski with a special award for all his service to the Brewers Association and raising the profile of craft beer in New York.”
In addition to offerings from Greenport Harbor, Newburgh, Singlecut Beersmiths, KelSo, Empire Brewing, Brooklyn Brewery, Barrier, Ommegang, Sixpoint, Shmaltz, Radiant Pig, Bronx Brewery (which is featured in the latest issue of Edible Manhattan, by the by), and a keg-full of others, there will be lots of farm-to-table nibbles to keep you from totally falling into the beer-and-pretzel all-carb diet. Nice!
Tickets are only 10 bucks at the gate (enter at 90 Kent Avenue and 8th Street), and doors open at 10am and stay open ’til 6pm. If that’s enough info for you, click here for more. And cheers.
