We’ve been looking forward to Cider Week for the last month, and it finally kicks off this weekend at An Autumn Night at Greenmarket. From 4 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, farmers and restaurants will come together at Grow NYC‘s Union Square Greenmarket to celebrate the fall harvest. Along with the food, there will be a pumpkin patch (hard to come by in the city!) and music by Ed Cherry and Leviticus Gory provided by Jazz Foundation of America.
Chop’t Salad, Ngam, Palo Santo, Tocqueville and ‘Wichcraft will be serving autumn-themed dishes that we can’t wait to get our hands on. Some prepared foods that will be featured include ‘Wichcraft’s Pumpkin Cider Soup with Toasted Marshmallow & Spiced Pepitas and Ngam’s Winter Squash Red Curry.
The event will also have a bar with wine and Brooklyn Greenmarket Wheat, a beer brewed from 70% New York grown wheat and barley. Local hard cider will be sold by the glass or by the bottle.
Take advantage of autumn and its bountiful produce while you can. An Autumn Night at Greenmarket is one event you will not want to miss.
