It’s a good time to like Mexican food if you live in Manhattan. El Presidente in the Flatiron District will be opening this month with the full service taco treatment. Owner Dario Wolos told me he was working to make the food as authentic as the kind you find on the beaches of Tulum, but in a more metropolitan setting.
The company also owns La Brisa in Montauk, which was featured in Edible East End‘s spring 2014 issue. The same artist whose work graces the article is also featured in the new place on West 24th Street, around the corner from Eataly. The chef is Jason DeBriere, who will be working with Luis Aguilar.
