We’re getting the first snow of the season, and it’s hard to imagine the time months from now when New York becomes a place where plants grow voluntarily and the ground thaws enough to plant seeds. But while you’re refreshing your flight status page every four seconds, take a minute and apply for Farm School NYC’s Training of Trainers course. The class, which is part of a suite of classes offered by Just Food and Farm School NYC, teaches basic farm-centric education methods and introduces styles of learning and workshop planning. The program emphasizes participatory learning and learner-centered teaching.
The class runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays through the first half of December and locations alternate each week. Although the Farm School is not currently accepting students for their Certificate Program in Urban Agriculture, the course credit can be applied to future certificate requirements.
