Next Thursday night we’re proud to co-sponsor the launch of Diet for a Hot Planet, Anna Lappé’s third book about food and climate change and what diners can do about it, at a reception and discussion at the New School. (Admission is free, you just have to RSVP here or email dhplaunch@gmail.com.)
Anna, featured at left, is an ecologist and a green blueblood: Her mother is Frances Moore Lappé, whose book Diet for a Small Planet is kind of the Catcher in the Rye for those who think deeply about food issues–the first book to spur you to rethink the world (and in this case, what’s grown on it).
Anna’s also one of our very favorite Brooklynites, and our colleagues at Edible Brooklyn just interviewed her about her book, what things might look like in 100 years, food’s role in global warming and personal responsibilties versus policy change.
