Callicoon Artwalk
October 13 @ 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT
Callicoon Artwalk is a celebration of local art and culture in the picturesque hamlet of Callicoon on the Delaware, NY. Over 50 artists will showcase their work in storefronts, public spaces and the historic Callicoon Train Depot. Experience a full day of live music, theater performances, film screenings, workshops, installations, contests and more.
Highlights include Farm Arts Collective’s multi-media performance, ‘Dream on the Farm’; Steve Mellor’s gripping performance in ‘Mahinerator’; an excerpt from Jerry Lieblich’s “hilariously gruesome” play; and an excerpt from Standing People Together’s ‘On Belonging’ that explores belonging through community.
Film enthusiasts won’t want to miss Fantastical Films at the Callicoon Theater, a block of nine short films, curated by local artist Elizabeth Ennis.
Families can enjoy a community weaving project, a scavenger hunt, an apple drawing contest and a clowning workshop by Clown Daddy Presents, blending physical comedy with vaudeville flair.
As evening approaches, immerse yourself in ‘100 Flares / Lights / Bagpipes’ by Raphele Shirley & David Watson, an ethereal light and sound installation, which will transform the site into an evolving, ephemeral sculpture.
With Callicoon’s incredible restaurants and unique shops, this arts-filled event is the perfect reason to make your escape to the Catskills this weekend!
