We tend to look for dining experiences first, and when it comes to Mohonk we didn’t have to look far. Reds, whites, and maybe even some oranges take over in October and January with evenings of wine hosted by world experts Adrian Chalk and Kevin Zraly (who will pair their hand-selected vintages from all over the world with ideal farm-to-table courses from Mohonk’s peerless kitchens). Catch Adrian Chalk in October for the Wine Pairing Dinner and Kevin Zraly in January for Wine Weekend. And in March you can beat the winter blahs with Chefs on the Mountain, a food-focused weekend with everything from chef demos to hands-on workshops and a “Breakfast Battle,” as well as countless winter activities. Finally, spring comes roaring in with a sweet celebration: the Chocolate Lovers Weekend in April, offering the world’s best hot cocoa on command, expert demos, chocolate cocktails, and even a master class in cookie decorating.
Uniquely Mohonk
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Mohonk’s Mystery Weekend, in the place that invented them! This February, get in on the action as performers act out a mystery and leave it to you, and your team, to solve the crime. There’s also an original puzzle, tabletop escape room, and “Murder by the Book” theme, with a focus on authors and novels. Things get even more captivating in March, with top illusionists unveiling their skills at the Magic and Mindbenders Weekend. Sounds from all over the map—Broadway, jazz, reggae, folk, West African, country—take over in June with Music on the Mountain, enjoyed by guests at both lakeside concerts and intimate evenings indoors.
International Flavor
Oktoberfest in September—from September 19–21, German culture comes to the mountain with steins of the Hudson Valley’s best brews, as well as bratwurst and other Deutsch delicacies, and polka music. And are those bagpipes we hear? It must be the Scottish Weekend, featuring concerts, Scottish country dancing, kilt making, and whisky tasting in January. Later, in the spring, the Italian Festival brings a chance to live la dolce vita with pasta making, opera, artisan markets, and Italian music.

With April, the Disco Getaway arrives, bringing with it all the fun, lights, and fancy footwork of the 1970s, with a tribute band, disco DJs, vinyl shopping, and even cinema under the stars.
