Callicoon ArtWalk
October 11 @ 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM EDT

The Callicoon ArtWalk is a vibrant celebration of local art and culture in the picturesque hamlet of Callicoon on the Delaware, NY. Throughout the day, more than 50 artists transform storefronts, public spaces, and the historic Callicoon Train Depot into galleries and performance venues, bringing creativity to every corner of town.
Visitors can explore a full lineup of live music, theater, film, workshops, and artist demonstrations in unexpected places.
Film lovers won’t want to miss Fantastical Films at the Callicoon Theater — a block of 13 imaginative short films curated by photographer, illustrator, and multimedia artist Elizabeth Ennis. Also screening, an encore presentation of the Too Short to Suck Film Festival, featuring 36 bite-sized films (each under two min.) from 36 local and international filmmakers, proving that great storytelling doesn’t need much time.
Theater highlights include Standing People Together’s Diner Stories — a new full-length play expanding on Tiffany Esteb’s short play Diner. Developed with community input, it explores themes of immigration, racism, poverty, and precarious work. Later in the day, River Rep Theatre presents an excerpt from Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, where Chekhov meets Bucks County in a weekend of sibling rivalries, voodoo dolls, and surprise romance.
Families will find plenty to enjoy as well, including the Kids’ Pumpkin Decorating Contest at the Western Sullivan Public Library and the Upcycle Your Threads Workshop, where art meets sustainability. Guests can bring an article of clothing (or grab a market bag) to embellish with stencils and fabric paint, transforming everyday wear into one-of-a-kind creations.
Throughout the hamlet, Meet & Greets and en plein air painting demonstrations invite visitors to connect directly with artists and experience the creative process firsthand.
Music fills the air all day on two stages. On the Callicoon Depot Main Stage, performances include jazz-fusion percussionist Obi Kaye, fiddle-driven Americana of Poison Love Band, the powerful vocals of Kathy Geary, punk-tinged Americana of Caswyn Moon, the spacey folk-rock of Faith Kelly, and the heartfelt songwriting of Lucas Maehara Rotman.
Across town on the ENGN Platform, enjoy Matthew Hoffman’s ethereal solo vibraphone, Rich Klein’s classic rock, new age percussion and spoken word from New People, and Veronica Fawn Fernandez’s indie-pop charm and sultry wit.
Between shows, visitors can wander Callicoon’s charming streets lined with unique shops, galleries, and restaurants, making it easy to spend the entire day soaking in the creative energy.
After Artwalk, head to one of the many wonderful restaurants or taverns in Callicoon for dinner, drinks and more live entertainment!
With art, film, theater, music, and hands-on fun for all ages, the Callicoon ArtWalk captures the heart of the Catskills — a welcoming mix of creativity, community, and small-town charm. It’s the perfect reason to make your escape to Callicoon this weekend!
