You know you make good drinks. You know gin makes the best drinks, and you probably like Hendrick’s Gin, a gin made oddly in small batches using flowers, roots, fruits and seeds to aromatize the spirit and set it up for its signature botanicals: rose and cucumber. So from Manhattan to Montauk, Edible’s looking for great bartenders.
Here’s the chance to mix it up with your peers and win an Edible profile, prizes and prestige. Plus some money. The Grand Prize is $5,000 cash and a trunk full of bar tending tools and glassware.
Here’s your challenge: With a base of Hendrick’s Gin, create two cocktails that test drink making prowess, historical knowledge and seasonal sensitivity; they are:
1. The Heritage Cocktail: An updated interpretation of a classic cocktail like a gimlet or martini.
2. The Edible Cocktail: A creative libation using Hendrick’s and local/seasonal ingredients.
