Restaurants, bottle shops and bars all over town increasingly offer New York wines. But on Tuesday, March 10, you can taste more than 150 of them in one place: the fourth-annual “NY Drinks NY,” a grand tasting (no, really) at the Astor Center. Tickets start at $30.
It’s the crown jewel of the month-long New York Wine & Grape Foundation’s celebrations, complete with wine dinners and focused tastings. And at NY Drinks NY more than 35 winemakers from the Finger Lakes, Long Island, Niagara Escarpment and beyond — including Bedell, Channing Daughters, Macari, Red Newt, Benmarl, Brooklyn Oenology and many others — will pour their best bottles, representing a wide diversity of varietals and styles that you can ask them about while you swirl and sip. Pace yourself with — what else? — New York cheese and charcuterie.
