We’ve always been fans of the ground-breaking pickle company known as Rick’s Picks, not just for their future-sightedness (they were one of the founders of the great DIY pickle boom of the 2000s) but also for their Greenmarket presence and penchant for purchasing from local farms.
And then we get this from them in our inbox: “We’re putting our money where our mouth is…literally! To celebrate Eat Drink Local week, we’ve challenged the Rick’s Picks crew to create a recipe using $10 worth of Greenmarket ingredients and a pickle of their choice. Paige, our Social Media Director, cooked things off on Sunday with angel hair pasta in a scrumptious, lick-the-bowl sauce of Long Island clams and Handy Corn. We’re posting a new recipe on our blog every day of Eat Drink Local Week through its finale on Wednesday, October 6. Check it out for tasty, easy and affordable recipes!”
Well, we couldn’t have wished for more or said it better ourselves. We’d surely give the folks at Rick’s one of our winnables for taking on the Eat Drink Local Challenge in such prime form, except for the fact they’re donating some of the prizes themselves. And hey, don’t forget to sign up for the Ricker’s newsletter to get all 10 recipes.
