On the Events Calendar: Whisky & Women, 10 Courses of Duck, Pizza 101

March 4: 2nd Annual Duck Cook-Off  at Jimmy’s No. 43. Help raise money for Food Systems Network NYC and enjoy a walk-around, 10-course tasting of creative duck dishes at the same time prepared by ten amateur and professional chefs using regionally sourced ducks and seasonal ingredients. It all takes place on Sunday, March 4th from 1 pm to 3 pm, tickets are available for purchase here.

March 8: Whisky & Women Unite. Take part in an evening of Compass Box cocktails prepared by some of the city’s most celebrated female mixologists.  Lynnette Marrero, LUPEC-NYC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) Chapter President and Julie Reiner, NYC mixology legend will host this event on Thursday, March 8th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Lani Kai in SoHo.  Enjoy $8 cocktails prepared by Meaghan Dorman of Raines Law Room; Eryn Reece of Death & Company and Mayahuel; Abigail Gullo of Fort Defiance and Karin Stanley of Dutch Kills and Little Branch.  Plus $2 from each cocktail will be donated to Bottomless Closet.  To attend, RSVP to Debbie Burke-Smith at The Collective PR at debbie@thecollective-pr.com, (917) 572-5761 or Jen Neugeboren at jneugeboren@gmail.com, (917) 572-5761.

March 21: How to Knead, Top & Toss. If you missed our last How To at the Brooklyn Brewery on butchery, you’re in luck. This time around, we’ll be learning all there is to know about making the perfect pizza on March 21st from 8 pm to 10 pm at the Brooklyn Brewery.  Pizza a Casa Pizza School will show you how to kick out a killer crust in your home oven, while Murray’s Cheese will show us how to make mozzarella.  There will be one more special guest, so stay tuned.  Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased here.
