As Eat Drink Local Week approaches–our eight-day tribute to our foodshed begins Saturday, June 23rd–we wanted to introduce the sponsors that have helped us organize the event and also support local and seasonal eating year-round.
One of those is Whole Foods Market, which is going to be hosting a slew of special events, giveaways and demos featuring Eat Drink Local Week ingredients at locations around the State.
For example, this coming weekend, the first five folks to check in on Foursquare at Whole Foods in Chelsea will receive a $50+ goodie bag filled with local products. There’s a special farm to table dinner at the Whole Foods Columbus Circle next Tuesday the 26th, and a local food vendor fair on next Friday the 29th. And next Thursday at the Tribeca branch, they’re hosting a showing of the bee-centric movie Queen of the Sun.
Those are but a small sampling: If you go to your store page on their website, you should be able to get a complete run-down of happenings near you; they’re also listed in our own Events Calendar.
Be sure to check out all the other events we have planned for Eat Drink Local Week, including hundreds of locally sourced prix-fixes at restaurants around the city and other deals from partnering businesses like Whole Foods.
