What do New York’s Gramercy Tavern, Chicago’s The Publican and San Francisco’s Epic Roasthouse have in common? In addition to being standout farm to table restaurants in their respective cities, they — among other exceptional restaurants from across the country — are participating in our Newton Vineyard Wine Pairing Contest.
From March 11 to July 16, Newton Vineyard will host a series of wine dinners and tastings that showcase their unfiltered wines. The best part: you could win — not one, but two — seats at the table. All you have to do is submit an enthusiastic description of your favorite food and wine pairing on our contest page.
First up is Gramercy Tavern on March 11. In case you needed any more convincing to apply, New Yorkers, here’s what’s on the menu for next Tuesday:
Ruby red shrimp with sweet potato, farro and Brussels sprouts
Unfiltered Chardonnay 2011
Mushroom custard with sunchokes, trout roe and pickled burdock
Unfiltered Cab 2011
Pork bolognese with tagliatelle, fennel and preserved lemon
Unfiltered Merlot 2011
Roasted lamb and braised shoulder with sunchokes, bok choy and hen of the woods mushrooms
Puzzle 2010
Pear custard with linden flowers, brown sugar, cider and vanilla
