Jimmy Carbone of Jimmy’s No. 43 and Beer Sessions Radio has collaborated with Edible’s own Rachel Wharton on an e-book chronicling the most popular recipes from New York’s Pig Island festival. The book, which is available from all major ebook sites, also features photo essays that follow the pigs from farm to festival.

Pig Island, a four-year-old festival, sources its meat from Flying Pigs Farm and its chefs from all over the city. Missed this year’s festival? You can find recipes for the dishes you didn’t eat including lavender-braised pork shoulder, Joe Doe’s lard biscuits and crispy-fried pork skin. I’m sure I’ll regret learning exactly how much lard goes into those biscuits, but I’m curious nonetheless. The e-book rings in at a whopping $1.99 and can be found at ilikepig.com.
