The workshop will look at food waste issues in New York and tackle questions like what to eat to help lower your carbon and footprints, what to buy locally, how to cut down on packaging, how to dine out sustainably, plus strategies like composting and cooking using the so-called “undesirable” parts of your veggies. Snacks and beverages will be served, and guests will be given a tour of the DSNY Spring Street garage, an award-winning facility with a 50,000 square foot green roof.
