Before we all head off for the long, barbecue-filled weekend to celebrate this fine, fine country we live in with an appropriate outdoor feast — ours will feature the just to the market peaches and corn and heirloom tomatoes, yes!– we just wanted to remind you all that next Sunday is Meatopia — a Good Beer event we don’t have a hand in, other than one smeared with barbecue sauciness, that is.
But we’re still pretty excited about it. With a name like that, you pretty much know it’s going to be awesome without even knowing the details, but we’ll give you a few to make sure you show up.
It’s on Governor’s Island, tickets start at $25, it’s all day, part of the proceed go to Slow Food USA and Just Food and the beer is made by Sixpoint Craft Ales, including one special smoky brew just for the occasion, and there’ll be at least 30 pretty damn amazing chefs making meats sourced with sustainable goodness in mind.
