Get Your “Eat More Kale” T-Shirt, While You Can

Earlier this month we were talking kale salad with Christophe Hille, who co-owns Northern Spy Food Co. with Chris Ronis. The E. 12th street restaurant is revered for its version–the recipe has been featured by local publications at least three times. The dish, shown above, includes a hefty sprinkle of aged Cheddar and roasted squash, usually butternut or kabocha.

Hille (he and the restaurant will be featured in our upcoming Eat Drink Local Issue) had just bought a bunch of individually-made “Eat More Kale” shirts from Bo Muller-Moore, a funky Vermont artist. Muller-Moore’s hand-printed handiwork is being challenged by Chick-fil-A, the fried chicken sandwich chain that shares a similar motto, albiet a more protein-centric one.

Hille was snapping up the tees with the thought that they might soon be off the market. You might want to do the same, and while you’re at it, maybe sign Muller-Moore’s petition to stop the company from preventing him from spreading the gospel of leafy greens.
